Five-Story 17 West to Include Retail, Residences and Public Garage along 17th Street at the Corners of Alton Road and West Avenue

17 West, a five-story mixed-use project in the heart of South Beach, will break ground later this month along 17th Street at the corners of Alton Road and West Avenue, its developers Rock Soffer of Turnberry Associates and Elion Partners announced today.

17 West, which incorporates two adjacent buildings connected by a bridge on the 2ndto 5th floors, will include ground-floor retail, loft-style rental apartments, and a garage for public parking. The project is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2018.

Miami Beach’s first Trader Joe’s will occupy a portion of 17 West’s retail space on the corner of 17th Street and West Avenue. Additional retail is planned along 17th Street and Alton Road, and will include boutique restaurants and stores to support the West Avenue and Sunset Harbour neighborhoods.

The development team said the new mixed-use project will fill a significant void in South Beach, specifically spacious rentals, a convenient grocery store and much-needed public parking.

Two levels of public parking will be situated above the retail. 17 West’s 4thand 5th floors will feature two-story, three-bedroom townhomes, as well as one- two- and three-bedroom apartments, all with 11-foot ceilings, open floor plans and large walk-in closets. Residential amenities will include a pool, fitness center, dedicated private parking, and 24-hour doorman service.

17 West was designed by Touzet Studio and Stantec serves as the architect of record.
