Derek Tam is Director of Development and Construction at Elion and is responsible for the firm’s project management activities across its value-add investment vehicles.

Previously, Derek served as the Head of Real Estate and Office Services at Gemini, where he played a key role in establishing its real estate portfolio strategy through the development of its market expansion strategy and the standardization of operating guidelines for both flexible and direct leased space. He also served as Project Delivery Director and then Senior Director of Enterprise Services at WeWork. He provided executive oversight of the design and development of high-profile projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management. Derek also held project management and engineering roles at Gardiner & Theobald, CBRE, and Bohler Engineering throughout his career.

Derek earned his Master of Science in Real Estate from NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University.
